Please explain exactly what "but nothing really happens" means. Do you mean that you see the SF in the analysis page but there are no substitutions? Or you don't get search results? Or???
You have to reload the core after making changes at minimum, you can restart the Solr instance if you're paranoid. And you have to re-index for changes in the index part of the analysis chain to take effect.
