Funny, you should ask. Here are the relevant suggestions from the Solr
Usability contest that is going right now:

*)
https://solrstart.uservoice.com/forums/216001-usability-contest/suggestions/4224929-make-it-easy-to-visualize-solr-configuration

And since I kind of expecting the Lint Tool to happen one way or another,
here is the project page:
https://github.com/arafalov/SolrLint . No code there yet, but I am
collecting the rules/issues. At this point, the tool is invisaged as a SAAS
for various reasons, but it might become a command line component later.

Actionable items:
1) Make specific rule suggestions about what YOU think SolrLint should
detect (here is one example for DIH:
https://github.com/arafalov/SolrLint/issues/7 )
2) Vote for the suggestions above (or any other from the contest)
3) Make more proposal on the contest (and maybe win a copy of my book)
4) Follow SolrLint project

   Alex.
