Hi Kowish,

Here is an easy way to find out:
1 use copyField to copy from string to tlong
2 use ab or JMeter to hammer Solr while sorting on one or the other
field (separate runs)
3 compare :)

Since you have SLAs, I'm assuming you already have 2 and 3 in place.
