I'm not certain, but isn't there where the "spellcheck.collate" option can be used? http://wiki.apache.org/solr/SpellCheckComponent#spellcheck.collate ...if i understand the docs correctly, you can put your doc constraints in an "fq" and only suggested collations that match some documents in that set will be returned. (not sure if collations are considered when there is only a single term in the query though) -Hoss
