Trying again, original reply rejected as spam. This won't be all that helpful, but 4.1 has a lot of improvements as far as SolrCloud is concerned, and it's in the process of being put together now.
So I suspect the best use of time would be to work with 4.1 (or a nightly build between now and then, or a build off the 4.1 branch) and report of the issue is still there. As I said, not much help but.... Best, Erick
