Today, in 4.0, only TextField supports an analyzer. But, technically, you
could implement your own field type that did support an analyzer. Maybe you
could add a field type that extended Location and adding support for an
analyzer.

Subject: Can one use Analyzers with non TextField types?
I saw a reference somewhere that analyzers are mostly used with TextField
types and all the examples seem to be for that as well.
But is it possible to use it with other types? An example I am thinking
about is a gazetteer token filter that recognizes a list of locations and
instead spits out coordinates that go into Location field.

Alex.
