played around with the surround query parser, while its good. Its not even near complete w.r.t supporting all different types of queries viz. rangeQueries etc. Let me know if i am missing something in understand the surround parser.
The XML parser seems to be a better choice, I'll try applying it to 3.6 and 4.0. and implement all suggestions from solr-839.
