Deniz: Unless you have a _proven_ bottleneck that this will address, I'd just let Solr/Lucene do their thing without interference. Explicitly using a RAM directory is one of those things that _seems_ like would be a Good Thing, but outside of very specialized situations it often isn't worth the effort.
Measure first. Then fix.
