Set minGramSize="1" for EdgeNGramFilterFactory.
And use EdgeNGramFilterFactory in the "index" analyzer only, NOT in the
"query" analyzer.
Check the "query" analyzer output in Solr admin as well.

I get the following results for search "iphone 3"
Index Analyzer
iphone 3

if I search for "iphone 3g" I get
Index Analyzer
iphone 3g
ip iph ipho iphon iphone 3g
ip iph ipho iphon iphone 3g
So how can I configure solr so that iphone 3 is matched?
Any ideas?

on the Analysis page:
