Robert, I tried to implement the factory to deal with german umlaut and stuff, but am now back with an adapted <charFilter class="solr.MappingCharFilterFactory" mapping="mapping-ISOLatin1Accent.txt"/> This should work. According to http://wiki.apache.org/solr/UnicodeCollation the wiki on UnicodeCollation I used ICUCollationKeyFilterFactory for search, obviously, it should only be used for special cases - I cannot think of any at the moment.
