You mean force a recovery? If so, then yes: there is a CoreAdminCommand (http://wiki.apache.org/solr/CoreAdmin#CoreAdminHandler) called REQUESTRECOVERY. The only param is core= and the name of the SolrCore. - Mark Miller lucidimagination.com
