See the "confFiles" section here: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/SolrReplication although it mentions solrconfig.xml, it might work with schema.xml. BUT: This strikes me as really, really dangerous. I'm having a hard time thinking of a use-case that this makes sense for, so be very cautious. Having an index created with one schema and searched on with another is a recipe for disaster IMO unless you're very careful.
