It really doesn't look like it. As part of some other work I'm doing I ran across this: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-2155 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-2155>which seems to speak (on cursory glance) at the polygon-bounding-box issue. But as you see it hasn't been committed. Want to push it forward?
