As I understand you expect that when re-indexing the cat_978.xml file the document with the ID: 618436123 should disappear. It doesn't work that way.
You need to do an explicit document delete request. The Solr index it's not recreated from scratch every time when you post a new .xml file. Also remember to commit you changes as Dave suggested.
