So let me understand what you said. You went through the trouble to implement a geospatial solution using Solr 1.5, it worked really well. You saw no signs of instability, but decided not to use it anyway?
Did you put it through a routine of tests and witness some stability problem? Or just guessing it had them? I'm just curious the reasoning behind your comment.
