<snip> I am pretty sure it is the tika itself that does not manage to convert your pdf. I'm not using solr cell but tika from a commandline, and it is only with very recent tika builds pdf extraction works in most cases. So I suggest to build tika from svn yourself, and if the commandlien extraction works, integarte it back with Solr.
