I would like to use PHP to send the query to Solr and will parse the results in XML. I read this article wiki here http://wiki.apache.org/solr/SolPHP?highlight=(PHP), but don't quite understand how to add *the PHP* response formatter to Solr. SOLR-196<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-196>has a patch file that I don't know how to apply it to Solr. Could someone help me on this pls?
