"code freeze" may be overstating it ... the point of the freeze is to hold off on new fatures and other misc refactorings and focus on bug fixes and documentation improvements. This sounds like a bug, and assuming the fix isn't insanely invasive there's no reason not to make bug fixes on the 1.3 branch (and merge with the trunk). -Hoss
