Just my two cents: I wouldn't trust that it completely works to be honest. It works for the very small test case that was put together (select q=*:*). I would love to add more tests to it. If there are any ideas of things that you think should be tested that would be great to comment on the JIRA (ideally everything but prioritizing some examples would be nice).
