@Michael - there are GUI available for ZooKeeper: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24551835/available-gui-for-zookeeper I used the Eclipse plugin before and while it is a bit clunky it gets the job done.

For my Dev efforts, I moved it to a different directory and I forget where it was, originally -- but if you search for solrconfig.xml or schema.xml, you should find it.
