I am not entirely sure what you mean,

But extra slashes in the middle of a url produce the same result as a single 
slash (right?).

So for example:
https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads///download-visual-studio-vs

is the same as:
https://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs
