Unrelated to the original topic... but a bit of a problem for me.

The default "wait until the hard kill" timeout in the Solr init/start
script is five seconds.  My dev install (with nearly 500GB index data,
but only 64GB RAM) frequently won't finish shutting down even within 30
seconds, let alone five.  I thought we had an issue to increase the
timeout to 30 seconds.  If these timeouts aren't configurable in
solr.in.sh, they should be.  I will look to see what the script is
capable of doing, and what we have in Jira.
