Take a look at SOLR-285 and SOLR-370. Disclaimer: I wrote the patch in SOLR-285, and even i don't think it's very good. Feedback on these issues, particularly feedback with Jira "votes", unit tests, bug fixes, and enhanced documentation are the best way to get a feature added. -Hoss
