It went very well. Lots of interesting talks. I believe you (Mr. Bell) were even mentioned by Ted Sullivan for voting for his Jira proposal on the AutophrasingFilter. The talk was extremely interesting and I intend to follow up on it. :-)

Tray Granger's stuff was apparently complex but mind blowing. I have missed it unfortunately and really look forward to reviewing the slides when they are up. The SQL talk is also something to chew over, even if it is only in trunk. Same with BioSolr. And Dice has open-sourced a bunch of various Solr plugins that might be interesting both together and individually (e.g. payloads): https://github.com/DiceTechJobs/SolrPlugins Amazon was not a sponsor this year, but there were people present. I think the important point about ES was the offering is a bare hosting without auto-scaling. Which is quite different from the CloudSearch that runs on top of Solr. Also (not quite related to Amazon), latest version of ES (2.) is dropping a bunch of features that proved unsustainable. This makes comparison story more interesting. But that's a discussion for different place and time.
