This has never been really satisfactory, when sending a bunch of docs to Solr
it's unclear which ones fail or even which ones were committed. Most people
simply re-send the docs either in smaller and smaller batches or one-at-a-time
when a batch fails.

It's tricky, especially in the asynch case. I think there's work being
done at this point
to make this better.
