Some zip files includes the java files that are individually available.
Can anyone tell me which files are up to date that I should download?

None of those worked for me with the latest nightly build of SOLR. We
had to write our own small client here. This one does not parse the
response properly with the latest version of SOLR and throws an XML
parsing error.
