Indeed, it does:
/home/src/wine-git$ prefix=/tmp/wine-test make -e install
...
/home/src/wine-git$ cd /tmp
/tmp$ du -sh

1. Ubuntu debs are split into a base
Maurilio is doing a great job providing Lenny packages for Wine.
The site at http://wine.x.pl has been providing Wine packages for Etch for some
time. x86 only I'm afraid. The site's author is very modest but I believe
it's a chap named James Huk who used to send messages to the wine-user mail
Hi Maurilio,
I see you've taken over building Lenny packages of Wine. Good work; at
least now there are *some* updated packages available.
I talked to Scott a while ago about taking over from him for all
Debian package building. I have an automated build environment that
builds packages for all v

Hi,
I don't know who who is responsible for maintaining the website, but probably
he will read wine-devel ;-)
I found a little typo on the download site for the debian packages. The link
to the repository works for me only without the space:

Hi,
the debian packages (http://wine.sf.net/apt/) are still stuck at
20050725. I have failed to contact the maintainer, Scott Ritchie.
Does anyone know whether he is still dedicated to building the packages?

Debian packages are almost done. I have them up for testing.
Add the following to /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://tuzakey.com/~scott/ binary/
deb-src http://tuzakey.com/~scott/ source/
My friend's webserver can't handle the huge bandwidth permanent hosting
of packages like this wi

Thanks for your help.
