I do. And I also get the same errors as yours when I use win98.
I guess it's the gdiplus version.... I got mine off of dll-files.

uld you be so kind to post the gdi+ sample executable somewhere? I'd
like to compare traces and see if we're hitting on the same issue
here.(Tried compiling myself, but VC6 seems to hate the new platform SDK

Just confirmed with cvs head.
This indeed seems to be causing the deadlock on XIM as well.
commented this line out and it looks a lot better.
