Just for the info: after some digging i found a quick
hack to get rid of the error: comment line 208 in
dlls/x11drv/opengl.c:
//TEST_AND_ADD1(ppfd->dwFlags & PFD_STEREO,
GLX_STEREO);
Somehow setting the PFD_STEREO flag makes doom3 crash
and triggers the error mentioned in the subject.

re digging to see if
i can find anything useful. The bug must not be
closed, as doom3 _does_ crash when i run it with
current cvs in a normal way.
