is there a patch anywhere, which will allow wine to reread the
/etc/resolv.conf file.
i.e.
application lotus notes
a) start notes whilst connected to home network. /etc/resolv.conf gets
populated by home dhcp server
b) start vpn connection to work /etc/resolv.conf gets populated with
extra
Was there a problem with this one - Its really holding me up with progress,
so I need to ensure I resolve any issues asap.

No this will not work. You need to keep the paths relative. Do not use
full URLs as then if you have a development/test server running, it will
take you back to the production site.
If you look at index.php, there is an include("path.php"), which defines
the static BASE. If you always inclide path

Oops, segment violation
while running make to build wine from cvs.
It failed on the command
../tools/widl/widl -I../../wine/include -I. -I../../wine/include -I../include
-h -H ocidl.h ../../wine/include/ocidl.idl
Turning on logging showed that it happened while processing
