First some technical considerations you have to keep in mind depending on
which solution you prefer:
- Remote virtual screen (VNC, RDP, Citrix, ...). This

Have a look at Apache Guacamole. It's a remote desktop client over HTML5.
VNC is one of the protocols it supports, but if you really don't want to
use VNC you can use something like XRDP on your server and connect via
Guacamole.
