I seem to have problems when I have two clients of my program
accessing the same instance of virtuoso (even when the clients are
independent), eventually one fails and virtuoso totally stops running.

So, you followed the instructions from Patrick to setup a new SPARQL endpoint
at say http://localhost:8080/sparql ,which Pierre indicates below works for
him, but this is failing for you; is my assumption correct ?

yes I am using the packaged version in Ubuntu- Virtuoso OpenSource 6.1 so if
you recommend me to update i will proceed!

What is the version of Virtuoso being used as from the "isql-vt" command you
indicate below and you previous post regarding Ubuntu apt get command, I assume
you are using the version shipped with the distro, which is an old 6.1.1 build
from over a year ago. I would recommend compiling

I was trying to install the fct package and I always got an error related to
the transactions file. Previously I ran the script [1] but I did not get a
sucessfull installation anyway after that when I tried to see the tab in
