Thanks for pointing that out, the virtjdbc3.jar should not be in the
jenajars.zip file which should only contain actual Jena files
required for testing the provider, thus it has been removed and the
download page updated ...

ok, last question for the weekend. I went ahead and downloaded the
Wordpress package from:
http://download.openlinksw.com/packages/5.0/virtuoso/
Because of a number of errors installing, I'm wondering if there is a newer
version?

Thanks Hugh, you are absolutely right. There is an old virtjdbc3.jar
included in the jenajars.zip package downloaded from:
http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/dataspace/dav/wiki/Main/VOSDownload
I was including all of those jars. Removing that, and including the version
in {virtuoso}/lib/jdbc-3.0/ fix

What is the version of the Virtuoso JDBC Driver (virtjdbc3.jar) being
used ? This can be determine with commands of the form in my case:
~/binsrc/jena$ java -cp "../../libsrc/JDBCDriverType4/
virtjdbc3.jar:." virtuoso.jdbc3.Driver
