Red Hat have a ABI (application binary interface) consistency policy within their major revisions. For example RHEL 6 distributes Apache httpd-2.2.15 - and will only ever include httpd-2.2.15. This is good because it allows users of RHEL6 to have a consistent software version that they know wil
