of course I meant path based authorization here. I would like to the book here,
but it doesn't seem to be coming up.

1. Path based authentication... don't give them write access.
2. Pre-commit hook... have the hook not allow commits to /trunk (or course you
will need a way around the hook.)

Yes; I've taken the (controversial) step of removing the tag until we
create it properly.
Most entries should be found in the CHANGES files on trunk, but the
CHANGES files in the (signed) tarballs are authoritative.

WANdisco Apache Subversion packages on Linux all you need to do is update
via your package manager (yum update subversion, apt-get update; apt-get
