links. If the upgrade causes grief, you can just move the links back. If
the upgrade is good, you can then uninstall the older version.
I do that with lots of frequently upgraded software on my Linux
platforms.

The same here. We live with a selfcompiled version of JavaHL 1.9.12,
since most Linux distributions delivers more recent versions of JavaHL.

cli doesn't support all operations. And javahl 1.9 doesn't support my
current state of the workspace. So me too is looking for support of a
more current javahl version.

what is the best way to use Subversion with Netbeans 9? I'm using
netbeans 9.0 with jdk10 on OpenSUSE 15.0. JavaHL and SVNClient are
installed by the OpenSUSE pakages. But I'm not able to get it working.
If I choose "CLI" netbeans doesn't find the svn executable,
