Hello Netbeans team, Geertjan,
I want to compliment and thank you for the new release. As a test
aficionado, I am very pleased with the new feature of the tiny test button
in the left-hand gutter to run individual test methods.
Thank you indeed.

NB is such a great tool !
Snap did update to 12.4 and I was able to move to Java 16 and Gradle 7.
First I encountered some errors:
- A all Projects including new ones showed an empty "Resolve Problems"
dialog and
- B classes even from same module were not resolved.
After some time I

Just installed 12.4 working like a charm. The updates on FlatLaf looks just
fantastic on Windows 10:)
Congrats

Great. We should change that (feel free to provide a pull request for it).
Also that change seems to be part of this pr:

Indeed it is 😊
Now I am just wondering why the note "(requires nb-javac plugin)" of the
"Compile on Save" option is still there, but it works, and that's great.

Thank you very much!
Could I just ask about this commit:
https://github.com/apache/netbeans/commit/46c1794125d317f190cd4fdc0309ad67c166faf0
If I saw it correctly, it is not included in 12.4. Will it be included in a
later release?
Cheers,
Torsten

Congratulations on the release! Is there any timeframe for when RELEASE124
libs will be uploaded to Maven for RCP app devs to use?
Thanks!

Yes, it will be accepted, however that has nothing to do with the
SecurityManager.
That is a patch to Equinox which, indeed, was the/a problem in
starting up NetBeans on JDK 17.
So in no way at all is that a "SecurityManager patch". That is a patch
to Equinox, solving a problem that showed up in

This isn't being accepted into Netbeans?
Yes, I'm fully aware of the reversal but I'm not sure if the reversal
has manifested in the actual source code.

The good news is also that JEP 411 has been changed so that, amongst
others, NetBeans will be able work on JDK 17 just as before:

The above is true for all other problems you encounter.
