On Fedora 40, the version of hplip is 3.23.12.
On https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip the version
is Version: 3.24.4.
The release notes at the above url seem to indicate that the only changes are
addition kinds of HP printer.
So, is it correct that there is no need

Fedora complains that it cannot communicate with the device.
My user is part of the sys and lp group, selinux is in permissive mode.
If I manually enter the ub bus and id in hp-setup it can see enough to
create the queues but still says it can't communicate w

The printer is attached to another machine. The print dialogue
window from Firefox shows the correct host for the printer. When I tried
attaching the printer to the machine hosting the vm, it showed up under

configured itself (when I installed it) so that
none of the hplip drivers got installed, but
