It is not unlikely that IDE mode is/was removed from the F38 installer.SATA started in 2005 and mostly replaced it by 2008 or so, so that makes the IDE software interface 15 years old. You might see if you can switch the mode to a different mode (AHCI would be the one that should be supported)
