Just ran discover update. It says
core 20 base snap
update available, but the update fails, with the error dialog
"snap has no updates available"

Does ‘sudo dnf update’ return any updates either?
What release of Fedora are you using?

change the font because the default
font did not let me have a 14 pt. font size.
I inferred that it was a bitmap font or something
else that did not allow arbitrary font sizes.
Though I still do not know how to discover what I have,
I have something that works.

Somehow I discovered that I needed
texlive-antt-10:svn18651.2.08-65.fc38.noarch to use package anttor ,
so I installed it with dnf.

usb device in inserted, a couple of photo viewer programs and one called
file manager. The file manager option used to start dolphin. For a
while now it has been Discover which does not give a list of files on
the usb
