Cannot listen to a USB PNP Audio Device input

Hi. I got a USB tape player to mp3 to convert some old tapes I had lying around. When I connect the tape player to the USB port it is recognized as a USB PNP Audio Device. Nevertheless, when I press play, I cannot hear any audio. Audacity cannot listen to it either. My Bluetooth headphones work fi
