appreciate it. (It bugs me the most in LibreOffice since the background
makes some of the icons almost invisible.

I run current Fedora releases on my home office boxes, but at my "real"
office (i.e., where I *don't* own the machines) it is still mandated
that 2 particular machines will stay with FC17. (This is a BIG
improvement because I was only able to upgrade the first one (machine

didn't help either. So I suspect that something else is going on here.
lsof doesn't show anything holding any of the sound devices open.
The rpms all verify correctly
root gets the same result as a non-privileged user.
So any suggestions would be greatly appreciate

fc17. And no, they aren't that large, running 25-30M each.) All of the
"affected" files play perfectly with xmovie or dragon.
Any suggestions as to a likely cause here will be greatly appreciated.
