gnome-shell windows sometimes all black

Sometimes, new windows open in gnome-shell show up as tastefully-rendered black rectangles. Sometimes shrinking one of these windows fixes the problem, but it's pretty annoying. I didn't find anything with a precursory check of bugzilla. Was just about to file a bug, but wondered if anyone else
