I have created a USB installer for the FC16 DVD ISO image via the
livecd-iso-to-disk tool, as detailed on the Fedora wiki. I also included
the appropriate "repo=hd::/path/file" boot parameter to the kernel
command-line, as the wiki states that for all releases prior to FC17 this
must be added.

James - thanks for the info. Much appreciated. In answer to your
question, the reason for the upgrade on the 'stand-alone' machine is
mostly so as to have the latest kernel (3.3.7 as opposed to 3.10) as there
are a lot of SCTP fixes with regards to this (still) changing piece of
code.

Thanks Sam - I will give that method a spin.

Thanks Richard. I will look into that option and let you know how it
works out (and obviously, get back to you if I hit a hurdle along the
way).

Thanks for the info - much appreciated.
Is there any way to download all the required updates (on a machine that
has Internet access, obviously) and save these downloads for the creation
of the local repository you speak of? Let me clarify. The target system

How would one go about applying FC16 updates to a system with no Internet
access?
The system will be freshly installed via DVD, and then requires all the
associated updates. Is there any way to download the updates on another
machine (that has Internet access), copy them over to the target sys
This issue appears to have been introduced with FC17 as it was working
properly with FC16.
Basically, when listing SCTP associations via netstat (i.e. "netstat
--sctp"), an error is displayed (see below). Servers appear to be listed
without issue - although that could just be due to the specif
Thanks Michael, I am now up and running with SCTP!

A couple of issues with that - hopefully not a big deal:
(1) The system I am installing to does not have direct Internet access and
thus cannot do a 'yum' to an external repository. I can only install
what's on the FC17 DVD ISO or via RPM (that I download from a separate
machine).
(2) My arch is
FC17 does not include the SCTP kernel module, as it had before (i.e. in
FC16 etc.)
I can't find the FC17 kernel-modules-extra RPM for it, nor even the FC17
kernel source RPM to compile it myself!
Help!
