Can one rescue a dead SSD?

So, a SSD just dieded on me, the root and home partition was on it. The computer froze and after a cold boot the BIOS doesn't find the disk anymore. I opened up the casing but couldn't see anything suspicious to the naked eye. Anything I could do at home to try to rescue it? I have backups of mos
