Hey.. A test app does a fork, creates children processes. Is there a way to view the procTBL "ps" to be able to see that a process is a "child" process? I know you can see when a child has stopped, but the parent is still running.. but is there a way to see if there are "running" children, some

Fedora 20 x86_64, gnome shell I'm recording off my line input and it's coming in a bit hot so I'm using the gnome-shell control to drop it from 100% to "unamplified". It stays as long as the program runs but as soon as I close it (or when I reload the program, haven't checked) it resets to 100%.
