I concur. I don't see why a PHP install would be database specific in any
form or fashion. I've run the traditional LAMP platform (PHP with MySQL)

For ISO images I can't dd on an usb stick I use Unetbootin[1]. It is in the
Fedora repos and easy to use but has no command line interface. I have been
trying to dd Ubuntu on an usb key but I doesn't work…

OK, I guess this would be unacceptable to ask in an Ubuntu mailing list

I appear to have a problem with my DVD reader (Gigabyte Technology 16x16
DVD rw/r). When I put a dvd in the tray, sometimes the DVD title comes
up in the "recent device" window, sometimes nothing. When "nothing"
comes up, sometimes the tray is locked & I can't get the disc out again.
More user friendly tool is "ffmpeg2theora". It's available in third-party repo
