Hello Everyone,
I am running Fedora 13, and I am using KDE as my desktop environment.
I would like to be able to charge my new (3rd generation) Kindle on my
computer,
but I get an error on the Kindle that reads like this:
If you want to use your Kindle, please eject your Kindle from your computer

I agree that both should be available. I don't see any reason not to
have OpenOffice available in the repos, even if FC wants to make
LibreOffice the default.
I was apparently misreading previous emails. I was under the impression
that someone was claiming that LibreOffice was the default in FC1

Hello,
A little bit of patience. Devs are working on it. LibreOffice will be
default in F15 iirc. Packages for LibreOffice will begin hitting the
repos soon.

*Shrug!* Your choice. Sooner or later, it will be available; just be
patient. However, my point was that there's no reason both can't be in
the repos. After all, we have vi, vim, emac

Granted, I'm new to Fedora, but am I missing something here? I have
default install of F14, and I wanted to install LibreOffice but it
didn't come up in the repos. I tried installing it via instructions I
found on the web, so I gave up and installed OpenOffice (which did, in
fact, show up in the

The point isn't that you can make the OO.org version work in Fedora but
that you shouldn't ha

Has anybody seen a problem where, upon startup, the
/var/named/chroot/var/run/named/named.pid file doesn't get updated with the new
pid? They do a check in the init.d/named script to see if the file exists but
not that the pid has been updated correctly in the
file. I've resorted to changing th

Update - apparently this issue is related to the GTK theme in use. The
default (Fedora, or Clearlooks, or a few others) results in this slow
behaviour. Other themes, like Nodoka and a few others perform fine.

I had to install Fedora 8 on a system because its version of glibc was
necessary for some third party software that we needed to use.
I am trying to export some of the directories from the Fedora system, so
that I can get the files backed up.
My server to which I am trying to export the files is
Is this only me or you also can't install banshee on Fedora 14?

My airport (wifi on Macbook Air) is working fine now fedora 14 is
installed (hooray!). But the default root is not enabled.
I can do so by typing as root:
route add default gw 192.168.254.254 eth0
but I don't understand why this is not done automatically by
NetworkManager.
So where can I config

will work, but emacs works fine for me (I have it heavily

This work-around works for me too. I guess I will have to put it in my
.bash_profile, or whatever one i
