I did a nodetool rebuild and it seemed to clear out the pending compactions
and didn't have the Exceptions in the log any more, so it fixed the
issue intermittently. Not it is time to expedite the upgrade.

I am experiencing this bug on our 1.1.6 cluster:

The pending compactions has been stuck on a constant value, so I suppose
something is not compacting due to this. Is there a workaround beside
upgrading? We are not ready to upgrade just yet
