If you're not opposed to more custom tasks, there is a FileUtil task in
Antelope (antelope.tigris.org) that will get the last modified time.

Why not do it like this:
if lastrun.txt doesn't exist,
use to generate the last run date/time and to write it to the file lastrun.txt
else
use to load lastrun.txt
